Nintendogs is a virtual pet simulation
game that was released for
the Nintendo DS in Japan on April 21 2005.
There are three different versions of the game, each with a different initial
selection of dogs.
You use the
touch screen to pet, entertain, and play games with your dog,
along
with using the DS' microphone to teach it commands.

To see Shift-JIS Japanese
correctly, make sure you have Japanese language support installed.
If the
characters don't show correctly, you may have to do the following;
Choose the "View" menu in your browser.
Choose the "Encoding"/"Character Coding" entry (or similar, depends on browser)
Find and select "Japanese (Shift-JIS)", you may have to look through a few sub-menus.
Now this FAQ should display Japanese characters correctly.

You can get items by:
Buying in the Goods Shop
Buying in the Discount Shop (find it when walking)
Finding stuff in the street when out walking, both in the [?] marked spots and just lying about in the street
Wireless link-up gifts
Recycle Shop Selling Price = Goods Shop Buying Price x 0.4
Discount Shop Buying Price = Goods Shop Buying Price x 0.5 - 0.9
The Discount Shop prices change every time you go there.
Prices are rounded to even numbers.
You can have a maximum of 99 of each specific item.
Version Specific Items
Some items only appear in one version of the game.
To get them in the other versions you have to link up.
